Episode 3: The Goddess of Destruction

Part 13

Previously, on The Goddess of Destruction, Metal Sonic and his doppelganger, Metal Sonic Version 3.0 engaged in yet another epic showdown in order to settle their score and prove once and for all which of the two machines were the strongest. Throughout the course of their intense battle, they flew all over the place via their jet boosters, and found themselves in the city of Station Square. While they were there, Metal Sonic 3.0 accidentally and unknowingly tossed Metal Sonic through the walls of the Station Square Police Station, where the two notorious criminals, Nack the Weasel/Fang the Sniper and Bean the Dynamite were imprisoned. Seeing the opportunity to escape, the two of them made their getaway, while Metal Sonic 3.0 entered the jail cell to see whether or not he finished Metal Sonic off.

After boasting about his supposed "victory", Metal Sonic used Mephiles' signature piercing beam attack on Three-Point Zero, dealing a critical amount of damage to his insides. Metal Sonic then decided to give his copy a chance to surrender, but Three-Point Zero refused, preferring to fight to the death instead, in which he did. After blocking Three-Point Zero's barrage of punches, Metal Sonic jammed his fist through his stomach and yanked out his circuits and wires, leaving Three-Point Zero on the ground, lifeless. Shortly afterwards, Metal Sonic decided to blow his body to pieces, but left his control chip intact. Shortly after Three-Point Zero's defeat, Dr. Robotnik contacted him via the walkie-talkie, asking whether or not he's managed to obtain the three Elemental Chaos Rings that resided at Tails' Workshop. Metal Sonic then responded, telling the doctor that he was unavailable to answer his call, since he had gotten himself killed in battle. Metal Sonic then informed Robotnik that he could pick up Three-Point Zero's parts, as well as his control chip, at the police station.

Before leaving to obtain the control chip for Metal Sonic 3.0's spare body, Robotnik decided to bring EG-005's capsule to his Sand Ocean base in order to prevent Shadow, Omega, and Squash from finding it and destroying her while she's in her inactive state. Robotnik then told his Egg Pawns to put her capsule in a safe place, in which they did. Elsewhere, at the Sandopolis Zone, Knuckles and Rouge have managed to find the Stone Element Ring, but shortly after they did, the newly-resurrected Egg-Robo took it from them, and left his squadron to deal with the duo, but they managed to wipe them out with ease. After that, they chased Egg-Robo and engaged him in battle. He tried attacking them with Robotnik's Checker-Wrecker Ball weapon, as well as bombs, but he wounded up defeated in the end, with Knuckles and Rouge reclaiming the Elemental Chaos Ring.

Meanwhile, at Windy Valley, Vector and Wechnia have stumbled upon the Wind Goddess, Storm, who happened to have the next Elemental Chaos Ring in her possession. After a small conversation, Storm challenged the two of them to a fight, stating that she'll gladly relinquish the Wind Element Ring if they defeat her. So far, five of the Elemental Chaos Rings have been obtained, and there's only two more to go. Do Vector and Wechnia have what it takes to defeat Storm? Will Mighty and Tikal manage to find the Chaos Ring at the Hydrocity Zone before Scorch does? Storm: *Starts using her wind powers to make the winds blow slightly stronger*

Vector: Ah, crud! Not again!

*They get pushed back a little*

Wechnia: Ghhhh…! *Starts moving against the wind current to resist*

Vector: *Does the same*

*They continue resisting and begin moving closer to Storm*

Storm: Hmm, very good. What do you say we take things up a notch or two?

Vector: WHOA!

*They get blown back again*

Vector: Great, that's JUST what we need! This is like last time all ovah again!

Wechnia: Yes, but losing isn't an option this time around, since the Elemental Chaos Ring is on the line. We need to think of a way to approach her somehow.

Vector: Why don't 'cha use that Chaos Fist move, or whatever? 'N' while she's caught off guard, that'll be a good opportunity to attack!

Wechnia: It's worth a try. *His fist glows green* Chaos…! *Raises it in the air* …FIST! *Slams it on the ground and creates a shockwave*

Storm: W-What!? *The winds stop momentarily as she begins to lose her balance*

Wechnia: Now, Vector!

Vector: *Runs toward Storm and uses his shoulder-bash ability*

Storm: Uhhhhhhh! *Falls over*

Vector: Got 'er!

Wechnia: Yes, but let's not let our guards down just yet. From here, the battle has only just begun...

Storm: *Still laying down* …

Vector: Uh, Storm? You a'ight ovah there? I couldn't've hurt 'cha that bad, could I?

Storm: …

Wechnia: Precisely. There's no way you could have been defeated that easily. Why don't you get on your feet, so we could continue? Or is this your way of surrendering? If so, then we'll just take that Elemental Chaos Ring and be on our way.

Storm: …

*Sits up and gets back on her feet*

Vector: Now THAT'S more like it!

Storm: I'll admit, you caught me by surprise for a second there, but rest assured it won't happen again. *Start spinning around until she literally turns into a tornado*

Vector: Uh oh… This can't be good!

After spinning around several times and turning into a tornado, Storm dashed towards Vector and Wechnia with incredible speed. Although they were able to dodge, the strong winds from Storm's tornado was enough to blow the two of them backwards, sending the duo crashing into the wall behind them.

Vector: Holy crap, how'd THAT happen!?

Wechnia: It must have been the tornado's after-effect…

Storm: Take… THIS! *Holds out the palm of both hands and fires two tornadoes, one from each hand*

*Vector and Wechnia move out of the way*

Storm: *Sends another one toward them*

Vector: Crud! How many o' those is she gonna make!?

Wechnia: I have an idea! *His eyes and fists glow green again* Chaos… CONTROL!

*Freezes the tornadoes in time*

Storm: W-What!?

Using the powers that he inherited from the Master Emerald, Wechnia was able to successfully freeze Storm's tornadoes, as well as the rest of the air current around them in time. Shortly afterwards, he ran straight towards her, delivering a powerful uppercut to the Wind Goddess, which sent her crashing through the wall behind her.

Storm: UHHHHHHHH!

Vector: Nice one!

Elsewhere, at the Hydrocity Zone…

Scorch: *Descends from the air, lands, and looks around* So, this is the Hydrocity Zone. Not a bad-looking place, not at all. In fact, if it weren't for the water, I'd probably go so far as to even say that I like it. *Walks over to the ledge and looks at her reflection in the water* Wow, am I good-looking, or what? Honestly, is it even possible for me to get any prettier? No matter how many times I see it, even I find my beauty almost overwhelming. It's amazing how thousands of years have gone by, and yet time still hasn't robbed me of my girlish figure and youthful appearance. Oh, Scorch… You are, indeed, the very thing that defines true beauty! *Suggestive pose*

Ah, right. I almost forgot. I'm supposed to be looking for that Elemental Chaos Ring. Wherever it is, I certainly hope it isn't in the water. Otherwise, I'll never be able to get my hands on it! If only one of those Chaotix guys were here, I could just let one of them go through the trouble of getting it, and then take it from them! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA… Yes, sounds like a plan! *Her ears twitch* Wait, what's that I hear? I think someone's coming! *Hides around the corner*

Mighty: *Walks by* You're saying that the Elemental Chaos Ring is around this area somewhere, Tikal?

Tikal: Yes. There's a strange energy that I'm feeling. I can't think of anything else it could possibly be.

Scorch: *Peeks* (Well, well… What have we here? It's Tikal and her boyfriend. How convenient. I was just saying how nice it would be if there was someone around to get the Chaos Ring for me, and here they are! Things are definitely taking a turn for the better, that's for sure! This is going to be TOO easy! It'll be like taking candy from a baby! Yes, you two run along now and get that Elemental Chaos Ring for me. The second they come from the surface, I'll nab it!) *Grins*

Mighty: …

*Starts sniffing the air*

Tikal: Is there something bothering you, Mighty?

Mighty: Is it me, or does it smell like fire around here?

Tikal: *Sniffs* Hmm, you're right, it does!

Scorch: (Oh, crap! I think they're onto me!)

Mighty: I wonder why the smell of fire would be here, in an aquatic area? Doesn't that seem suspicious?

Tikal: Yes, it does, but why don't we concentrate on getting the Chaos Ring before Robotnik does?

Mighty: Right. We should get going. *Dives into the water*

Tikal: *Same*

Scorch: Whew… That was a close one! For a second there, I thought my cover was about to be blown! I thought for sure that the two of them were onto me, but I guess not. All I need to do now is play the waiting game…

Meanwhile, at Windy Valley, Vector and Wechnia were still having their battle against Storm for possession of the Wind Element Chaos Ring. After the time freeze effects of Chaos Control wore off, the Wind Goddess continued to use powerful wind techniques in an effort to defeat the duo, in an effort to defeat the duo, but each and every time, they managed to stand their ground and prevent themselves from being blown away.

Storm: *Hovers into the air, surrounds her fist with wind current, and dives toward them*

Vector: Hey, Wechnia, can't 'cha use that time freeze technique again?

Wechnia: Not at the moment, I can't. After using it once, I'm unable to do it again for another fifteen minutes.

Vector: That sucks. Well, so much fa that idea, huh?

Wechnia: Not to worry, I still have other methods to use. *His eyes and hands glow green again*

Storm: Ready or not, here I come! *Speeds toward them*

Vector: Ah, crud! Here she comes!

Wechnia: *Abruptly grabs her wind-powered fist before it could come in contact with either of them*

Storm: W-What!? Impossible!

…

Well, try THIS on for size! *Surrounds her other arm with wind current and throws another punch*

Wechnia: *Grabs that one, too, but ends up getting pushed back by the wind current* Ghhh…!

*They both push against one another*

Elsewhere, 200 years into the future…

*Marine is being chased by an angry Silver and Blaze, since she was caught spying on them again*

Marine: AAAAAAHHHHH!

Silver & Blaze (at the same time): YOU GET BACK HERE!

*Just then, a blue warphole appears in front of them, which causes the trio to come to a stop*

Marine: Blimey! Look at that, mates! Whadda ya suppose that is?

Blaze: *Looks* From what I gather, someone must be entering this time period through either Chaos Control or a time machine. But the question is, who?

Silver: There's only one way to find out.

*Robotnik comes through the portal, not noticing the three of them*

Marine: Strewth! It's him! What's he doin' all the way in THIS time period!?

Blaze: I'm not sure, but knowing him, he's definitely up to something.

Silver: Somehow, it wouldn't surprise me if that was Dr. Nega in disguise! He must have escaped from the mental institution in the past! That's the only explanation I could think of as to why "Robotnik" would be in THIS world!

Blaze: You do bring up a valid point, Silver. After all, Nega, for some reason, DOES have a history of impersonating the real Dr. Robotnik. Why don't we follow him and see what he's up to?

Silver: Good idea.

After traveling into that era, Dr. Robotnik was bound for Dr. Nega's base to find another spare body for Metal Sonic Version 3.0, while unknowingly being followed by Silver, Blaze, and Marine. Fifteen minutes later, the four of them arrived at their destination.

Robotnik: Alright, so I'm here. All I need to do now is find the robot production room, where Metal Sonic 3.0's spare bodies are kept, and then I'll bring it back into the past and re-upload the control chip.

Silver: *Peeking at him from behind a corner* He's reviving Metal Sonic 3.0!? Oh, yeah. That settles it. He's definitely Dr. Nega in disguise, no doubt about it!

Blaze: Indeed.

*Robotnik proceeds through the base, followed closely by Silver, Blaze, and Marine*

Robotnik: Hmm? *Stops* Is someone there? *Looks behind him* That's strange… I could have sworn that I heard something back there, but I guess I was mistaken. Anyway, the robot production factory isn't very far from here. I'm going to go ahead and proceed from here… *Flies onward in the Egg –O- Matic*

With that said, Dr. Robotnik proceeded through the base, with Silver, Blaze, and Marine following him, completely unnoticed. Eventually, he managed to make his way into Dr. Nega's robot production factory, and to the doctor's surprise, there was only one spare body remaining for Metal Sonic Version 3.0.

Robotnik: What's this!? There's only one more left!? How strange… I could have sworn there were others the last time I was here! Could it be that someone's decided to invade this base and destroy them? I'm putting my money on Metal Sonic, since he seemed to know so much about these spare bodies when I spoke to him through the communicator. It's either they were destroyed, or moved to another location, as I've done with EG-005. Speaking of a which, I'd better go ahead and get this over with so I could proceed with my plans... *Hovers over the spare body, activates the Egg –O- Matic's grabber-claw, and gets ready to grab it*

Blaze: Hold it right there!

Robotnik: *Startled* B-Blaze! And the two of YOU, as well! What are you doing here!?

Blaze: We're the ones who should be asking YOU that question, Robotnik.

Silver: Yeah, or should we say… DR. NEGA!

Robotnik: Huh? What are you talking about?

Silver: Don't play dumb with us! We know for a fact that you're Dr. Nega in disguise!

Blaze: Yes, it's quite obvious!

Robotnik: …

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! You poor, deluded fools… Are you serious? Are you truly trying to suggest that he and I are the same person? Preposterous!

Silver: Sorry, but we're not buying it!

Blaze: First of all, "Robotnik", tell us… What reason would YOU have to come to this time period? Secondly, why would YOU, of all people, be going through all the trouble of trying to resuscitate Metal Sonic 3.0, when he happens to be a creation of Dr. Nega's? The two of you were enemies again, last time I checked.

Robotnik: …

Silver: So just give yourself up! There's no doubt in our minds that YOU'RE Dr. Nega!

Robotnik: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Do the two of you have ANY idea how ridiculous you sound? Have you forgotten that Dr. Nega has been taken back to the mental asylum?

Blaze: …

Come to think of it, you're right, but as far as we know, he could have very well escaped, as he's done before!

Silver: If you're not Dr. Nega, then explain to us why you've come here, and why you and Three-Point Zero are on the same side!

Marine: Yeah!

Robotnik: I don't have the time, nor am I at liberty to explain anything to YOU fools, because quite frankly, I don't believe this is any of YOUR business! Now get lost!

Blaze: If you truly aren't him, then you wouldn't have any reason to be getting so defensive about it.

Silver: Exactly, so you've just proved our point!

Robotnik: Hmph, believe what you want, I couldn't care less. I grow bored of this conversation. Now, if you would excuse me, I have more important matters to attend to, which again, have next to nothing to do with either of you. *Flies past them*

Blaze: Oh, you're not getting off the hook THAT easily! *Chases after him*

Silver: *Same*

Marine: Hey! Wait for me, mates! *Follows*

Robotnik: *Looks back* ARGH! Quit following me already, you troublesome pests!

Silver: No can do, Nega!

Robotnik: For the last time, you imbeciles, I am NOT him!

Blaze: Nice try.

*They continue chasing him until they get to the room where the time machine is located*

Marine: Looks like it's the end o' the line for you, ya chunky ol' bloke!

Robotnik: HAHAHAHAHAHA… Not quite, you little brat. Why don't you take a look at what's behind me? That, if I'm not mistaken, is Dr. Nega's time machine! All I have to do is set the coordinates, and I'll be able to make my escape!

Blaze: Wait a minute… Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that the same machine that Mephiles destroyed a week ago?

Robotnik: Yes, it is, but while Nega and I were busy running our "errands", we've decided to fix it, so now it's good as new!

Silver: I just love how you say "Nega and I" as if you're not him.

Robotnik: Enough! *Hops out of the Egg –O- Matic, walks toward the machine, sets the machine's coordinates to 200 years into the past, and activates a portal* HAHAHAHAHAHA! This, my friends, is where we part! From here, I bid you farewell! *Hops back into the Egg –O- Matic and flies through*

Immediately after Robotnik went through, Silver, Blaze, and Marine proceeded through the portal, as well, and traveled 200 years into the past, as intended. However, as with most other time portals, their location was chosen at random. The three heroes found themselves at Tails' Workshop, while Robotnik, on the other hand, ended up landing somewhere else.

Tails: Ah, hey, you guys! How nice of you to drop by!

*Everyone else says something similar*

Silver: Oh, hello. It's nice to see you guys.

Blaze: Yes, this is a pleasant surprise. When we chased Dr. Nega through that time portal, we weren't expecting to end up in this place.

Splash: …

Wait a minute, did I hear that correctly!? Did you say that Dr. Nega's back!?

Slush: You've GOT to be kidding me! How did he escape from the mental institution THIS time!? It was Metal Sonic 3.0, wasn't it!? I guess now I have another reason to hate him.

Silver: We're not sure how he escaped, but I don't think Metal Sonic 3.0 had anything to do with it, since Nega, while disguised as Robotnik, came back to our time period to get a spare body for him.

Tails: Are you sure that was a disguise? Heavy, Bomb, Orbot, Cubot, and I have been watching the news all day, and I don't remember them saying anything about Dr. Nega's escape…

Heavy: Yeah. Believe me, had that happened, it would have been front-page news by now.

Blaze: I see. Well, it would appear that Robotnik was telling the truth after all.

Silver: If that was truly the real Robotnik, then why are he and Three-Point Zero on the same side?

Bomb: Robotnik must have reprogrammed him to follow HIS orders instead of Nega's.

Blaze: Sounds plausible. But still, regardless of his identity, it's apparent that he's up to something.

Silver: Yeah. We don't know what it is yet, but we'll find out soon.

Marine: Do you think his plan could have something to do with that "Eee-Jee-Whatever" thing that we heard him talkin' about?

Espio: As a matter of fact, it does. You see… *Explains*

Blaze: So THAT'S it… Robotnik's in the process of creating a new super being with the combined powers of all Elemental Goddesses, as well as the Chaos Rings!?

Silver: So THAT'S what he was up to!

Marine: Strewth! That's crazy!

Blaze: Well, whatever it takes, we're going to stay here for the time being to make sure that Robotnik's plans won't come to fruition.

Silver: Yeah. This "EG-005" definitely sounds as if it has the potential to be dangerous…dangerous enough to destroy the world! Needless to say, if this world were to get destroyed, then that would mean the end of ours, as well! Our world was already devastated once before by Iblis' flames, and we're not going to let something like this happen again! We'll never allow Robotnik to ruin the future we've all worked so hard to change!

Ray: You probably don't need to worry about that, since Tiara's dad and his assistant are working on some kind of machine that's supposed to remove the elemental powers from the Chaos Rings.

Seedra: Yeah. We have four of them so far, and Knuckles, Rouge, Mighty, Tikal, Vector, and Wechnia should be here with the last three at any moment now.

Blaze: We're glad to hear it.

Charmy: Hee hee, "bee here with the last three". Get it? *Snickers*

Splash: *Giggles*

Marine: Good one, mate!

Seedra: Heh heh heh. Yeah, that's real nice.

*Knuckles and Rouge enter*

Charmy: Hee hee hee, and where were YOU two, hmm? Somewhere making out? *Snickers*

Knuckles: I've said it before, and I'll say it again: You're NOT funny, Charmy.

Marine: Can't say I agree wit' 'cha there, mate! I think he's hilarious!

Heavy: Well, you see, that's because you're an idiot.

Splash: Okay, now THAT was uncalled for.

Rouge: So, yeah, anyway, we just dropped by to let you know that we've found the Elemental Chaos Ring that we were hunting at Sandopolis. *Holds it up*

Espio: Excellent. That leaves us with only two more to go.

Honey: Yeah. I hope they get back here soon…

Elsewhere again, at Windy Valley…

Storm: I have to admit… You fight quite well. I'd expect nothing less from the White Echidna Project.

Wechnia: Same to you.

*Both Wechnia and Storm continue tugging against one another with their wind and Chaos energies*

Vector: Man, this is gettin' nowhere fast! I've gotta think of a way to end this somehow… *Thinks*

…

Ah-ha! I've got it! *Starts blowing a bubblegum bomb until it expands to the size of a boulder*

Storm: *Looks back* (Huh? What is he doing?)

Wechnia: (It looks like she's let her guard down. I guess now's my chance!)

After noticing that Storm dropped her guard, Wechnia took the opportunity to use the force of his Chaos energy to shove her backwards, causing the Wind Goddess to come in contact with the bomb and trigger an explosion.

Storm: UHHHHHHHHH!!!

*Smoke clouds the area*

Vector: A'ight! Score one fa us!

*The smoke clears and Storm's on the ground, blackened up from the explosion*

Storm: Uggggh…

Wechnia: Do you want to continue, or are you ready to surrender?

Storm: …

I'm surrendering. You've beaten me fair and square. *Takes out the Elemental Chaos Ring* Here, it's yours…take it. *Tosses it to Wechnia*

Wechnia: *Catches it*

Storm: …

Wechnia: *Helps her up* Are you alright? We didn't hurt you too badly, did we? If so, then we apologize. It was nothing personal.

Storm: Don't worry about it; I'm okay…for now, at least. I don't think Dr. Robotnik's going to be very happy about my failure to bring that ring back to him, though. He was really counting on it.

Vector: Like Splash 'n' Seedra told 'ja last week, you don't gotta take orders from 'im, y'know. Why not come wit' us?

Storm: Shock and I are still thinking about it. We'll let you know once we've made our decision.

Wechnia: Alright, we'll keep that in mind.

Storm: *Flies away*

Vector: 'N' anotha one bites the dust! C'mon, let's bring the Chaos Ring ovah to Tails' Workshop 'n' let everyone know 'da good news!

Wechnia: Sure thing. Chaos… CONTROL! *Uses the Elemental Chaos Ring to teleport himself and Vector out of the area*

Meanwhile, at the Hydrocity Zone…

*Mighty and Tikal come back up to the surface with the Water Element Ring*

Mighty: Finally! It took a while, but the important thing, is that we've found it!

Tikal: I couldn't agree more. Let's bring it back to Tails' Workshop, shall we?

Scorch: *Sneaks up on them and snatches it away from Tikal* Better yet, why don't you let ME hang on to it?

Tikal: Huh!? Scorch!?

Mighty: Where did YOU come from!?

…

Wait a minute, the fire scent that I smelt earlier… It was you!

Scorch: You guessed it!

Tikal: So, you've just been in hiding all this time?

Scorch: Pretty much. Normally, such a thing would be beneath me, but this time around, I didn't have a choice. Going underwater to get it myself was definitely out of the question for me, for obvious reasons, so I figured "Why not let some other peon get it for me?" It certainly saved me the trouble, that's for sure!

Mighty: GRR…

Scorch: HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks for the help, you two. I really appreciate it. I couldn't have done it without you. Dr. Robotnik sends his regards, as well! I'd love to stay and chat, but I have other things to do. Later! *Runs off*

Mighty: Hey, get back here! *Chases after her*

Tikal: *Same*

So far, nearly all of the Elemental Chaos Rings have been retrieved by the Chaotix and company. However, just as Mighty and Tikal managed to find the Water Element Ring, it was suddenly taken from them by Scorch! Will the two of them be able to chase her down to get it back?
